I'm so happy to see a sight dedicated to the "Mighty 8th." My father, whom i lost just last July, was a tail gunner in the plane "Round Twip Rabbit." His name is MelvinClay Mealer, and was from Obion, Tennessee. He stayed in the Air Force until the seventies, when he retired. I have many beautiful photos of him and his crew members, but unfortunately, I have no scanner or printer. I'm willing to make copies and send them, if you'd like . This Memorial Day Weekend is going to be extra hard on me. I miss him desperately... I was the real "daddies girl.' If anyone wishes to correspond, please write me at:postage@gte.net. Peace and love to all the survivng families and the people who fought for our country. Bless each and everyone of you.

Too young to have been in WWII. I collect noseart and crew pictures of B-17's. A great big thank you, that cannot be near enough, to all the men who flew in these and all other war planes. May God bless you and your families.

I'm looking for information about my father--John Lee Young from Grandfalls, Texas. He was a ball turret gunner on a B-17 and was shot down on Feb. 6, 1945. He was taken prisoner-of-war and held at Badkrusenbach, Germany. If you have any information or can point me in the right direction, I would appreciate hearing from you. My father died in April 1982 and there is very little remaining information.

I am looking for information concerning airman named Nicholas Paully. Nicolas was a tailgunner for the 323rd. My uncle Joe., aka Joltin Joe Bentzel was a Top Turret with the Chowhound. He recomended to seek the info. from other in the 91st BG who may have known Nick. Nick folded his wings approx. 4 months ago. I
met Nick when he became a patient of mine at the Hosp. of the Univ. of Penn. Nick, was not married and didn't have any family except a niece. I guess, I became his extended family during during his last days at the hospital. My last conversation with him before surgery was to thank him for his place has an american hero. We also had an opportunity to exchange "stories over Germany" that he had and what my Uncle Joe had mentioned to me. I believe I made a difference in his last days; he smiled.
