Margie Factoid - This is the original crew of Margie. They trained together in Sioux City and went into combat together. The crew was assigned to a new B-17G around September 10, 1944. The crew christened her Margie, named after the pilot's wife's name - Marjorie McConnell. When the crew flew combat missions, Margie was their home, security, and refuge. They were required to fly for 30 missions before they could complete their tour and return to the U.S.A.
Thanks to Marion Hoffman for the pictures and all the great information.
