Little Jean Factoid - This B-17 was originally called the Lady Lois. It was Captain Bill Arthur, pilot of the first crew of the 220, that named the plane Lady Lois after his wife. Lt. Hooper Maplesden was the pilot of the 2nd Crew. Lt. H. John Madsen was the pilot of the 3rd and final crew. Lt. John Madsen was asked by the crew chief, Sgt. Luther W. Heimbaugh, if the Lt. would rename the plane Little Jean after his daughter. Madson said OK and had Lady Lois removed and replaced with Little Jean. The nose art picture remained the same.
