Lil' Audrey Factoid - According to John Irons (son of Donald Irons 323rd), some of the other crew members were 1st Lt. Lloyd S. Schaper (Pilot), T/Sgt. Harry J. Weintraub (Radio), 2nd Lt. Raymond E. Stephens (Co-pilot), S/Sgt. James A. Regan (UG), 2nd Lt. Woodrow W. Mays (Navigator), T/Sgt. William J. Bickley (Engineer), and Sgt. Donald M. Alton (Tail Gunner) (MACR 881). The plane they went down in on 4 Oct 1943 was not Lil' Audrey, as it was ditched in the channel earlier in the year. S/Sgt. LaFon was one of the survivors of the crash in the English Channel.
